Mary Zammit is a professional basket-maker who will guide you through the techniques of this ancient craft. You’ll work with willow to create your own basket and explore the colour, texture and form of this versatile material. Suitable for beginners as well as those with some previous experience.

As part of the Crickhowell Walking Festival
Join artist Valerie Coffin Price for an inspirational walk along the lanes, meadows and waterways of Crickhowell and Llangattock. Responding to the diverse landscape you’ll create new drawings, photography or writing, depending on your personal interests. You’ll return to the Arts Alive studio in the afternoon to develop your ideas.
Distance: Approximately 3 miles. A gentle walk with a couple of steeper climbs and fields. Please wear suitable outdoor clothes and walking boots. Please bring your own art materials/equipment and a packed lunch.

The Guild is a friendly mixed ability group of men and women, who meet every Thursday 10.30am – 3.00pm at the Arts Alive.
Guild members are enthusiastic and talented craftspeople who focus on traditional textile crafts. They enjoy the weekly meetings where they are able to exchange ideas and to help and encourage each other.
The Guild has a varied annual programme of workshops, talks and visits.
The Guild is open to experienced crafts people as well as to complete beginners. New members and visitors are always welcome.
