WORK IN SCHOOLS
Arts Alive in Schools
The Arts have been described as ‘principal trainers of imagination’. Arts Alive has
a long record of providing successful and stimulating creative projects in schools
and other educational settings that complement and enrich the curriculum and give
students the opportunity to work alongside an artist.
Creativity can play a key role in a young person’s development, encouraging thinking
skills, developing self-esteem and independence. Arts Alive’s workshops provide opportunities
for creative learning, and encourage cross curricular links.
- We engage children’s creative minds and imaginations.
- We encourage independent thinking and decision making.
- We provide opportunity for self-expression.
- We value the process as well as the product.
Arts Alive can tailor workshops to suit the requirements of your school, college
or other group whether you’re looking for a one-off half-day workshop, a week-long
project or a series of workshops over a half term or term. We place particular emphasis
on leaving behind skills and can offer staff training sessions alongside our workshops
to help build skills and confidence in delivering arts projects. We have contacts
and partnerships with many artists and other arts groups and if we don’t think we
can help you, we will try to point you towards someone who can. Contact us to find
out more about our work.
Arts Alive have run projects in schools in Powys, Monmouthshire, Blaenau Gwent, Torfaen
and Herefordshire
